The importance of Simplicity
“If you can’t explain it to a 6-year old, you don’t know it yourself.” said Albert Einstein. “Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance.” said Coco Chanel and “Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple.” said Dr. Seuss. So, this is what today we are going to talk about. How to makeMarketing ….simple process.
Two things are known almost to everyone, when someone is asked about his business, products or services. Firstly, the answer is unduly large and, secondly, the content of the answer almost never covers the question. So it seems that the answer serves more the intention of impressing the person who made the question rather than actually inform him or give information.
Leonardo Da Vinci said “simplicity is the ultimate proof of wisdom.” and that makes us wonder why simplicity is important?
Simplicity brings you back to the essence of things and the core of your product or service. It will be easier this way to your customers understand what it is you are doing and it will also be easier to remember you and make the choice you want at the right time.
Why is it so difficult to achieve simplicity?
More time (and not less) is needed in order to make things easier, more simple and more quick, as you must find a way to capture the essence of the product or service for which you want to talk. You will have to be efficient, fast and to the point.
A tip for a “Successful Marketing strategy”:
Try to explain what the company does, the product or service you provide in one sentence. Start by using 50 words, reduce them to 25, 10 and finally end up at 5. You’ll see in practice how is to go from the general to the special and how you can end up in the essence of things along with your valuable customers.
